Abundance Abounds

Abundance abounds,

Even in the most unlikely

Of times and places,

Even as smoky air again us surrounds.

Once again a day requiring

Double masks on all faces,

When simply walking and breathing

Become infinitely more difficult tasks.

But what a “breath of fresh air” it is to see

A bounty of colors up above in the trees.

A welcome contrast to the burnt haze above

And the devastation below that

Through everything seemingly seethes.

A reminder that abundance still abounds,

If we are willing to look up

Every now and then to let in

Nature’s magic and whimsy

To help us turn upside down

Our world-wearied frowns.
