Beginning Anew

"To be born is to begin anew." -- Thich Nhat Hanh

A Life in Full Spectrum Technicolor at 42

[TL,DR:A belated reflection on this last year, and this next rotation around the sun, and my sincere gratitude to all of the wishes from near and far, and to all of you for being on this wild ride with me!] In a world that can feel increasingly (sometimes disconcertingly), ruled by the whims of binary 0's and 1's, it has been liberating the last 10 days or so, to let go and just flow with the 1's and 2's. An intentional retreat from all of the doing, and deepening my sense of being with myself, and my interbeing with the world around. Focusing on ever more meaningful, engaged connection within and with others. To what it means to be, relish, reflect, experience, delight, savor, feel the full spectrum of life in all of its colorful joys and sorrows (rather than simply do for doing -- or worse...posting! -- sake). This year, my “Continuation Day” happened to fall on the 21st day of the 21st week of the 21st year of the 21st century. I’d like to think that means that DJ PS is rockin’ the 1's and 2's (lots of 2's and 1’s this year, x2!). And yet, I feel I’m just getting warmed up. Warming up my ears to really tune into and really own my own beats and groove, while remaining thrilled for opportunities, past, present, future for our collective tunes to intersect and create some even more fun, beautiful, harmonies together. Feeling in awe of how this life can simultaneously be looking up, and also falling into place, when you remain open to all of life's mysterious unfoldings. Ever grateful for the myriad ways in which some of the most seemingly random people, places, faces, spaces, all manage to intersect and weave together a fabric of unimaginable richness, learning, growth and diversity. Thankful as ever to all I've been graced to experience thus far -- whatever and however it has been meant to touch me in ways both fleeting and deep -- and remain open, receptive to the flow, wherever it may take us, however it is meant to go. And may it bring more opportunities for more deepening connection between and among us. 🙏🏼🤗
