Proud to be an ally -- not just this weekend, or this month, but everyday of the year -- for my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters.
Proud to do what I can to foster greater awareness and acceptance, and advocate for more inclusion and equality. Because LGBTQ+ rights are civil rights. Full stop.
Proud to own all of who and how I am -- the person I have evolved into being across all these paths less traveled and the countless detours -- some quite scenic, others significantly less so.
Proud of (and grateful to) the LGBTQ+ community for the endless inspiration to encourage all of us to really own who and how we are, even when -- and especially when -- we may not neatly conform to society's rigid expectations for us.
And lastly...
Proud to call this quirky, imperfect little town of 48 hills and 49 square miles home. Thanks, San Francisco, for helping a diverse range of "misfits" like me and so many others from all walks of life, races, expressions and persuasions find a sense of belonging and home.
