This one's for you, RBG. And Rep. John Lewis. And all of the Suffragettes. And every other activist who, in their own way, paved the way to legitimize our right to be here, as we are, and have a say in the future of our country.
We are forever indebted to you for your perseverance and inspiration of getting into just the right amount of "good trouble" to pave the way for better tomorrows for more of us.
Because of you, we know our votes and our voices matter. May we all exercise this precious right to make them be known, make them be heard, loud and clear. And through our votes, through our continued activism, may we continue to carry forward the legacy of these civil rights icons and make them proud of the way we're making the most of (and seeking to uphold) these hard-won rights they have enabled for us.
