On the occasion of Diwali 2020, I can’t help but reflect how sorely needed and symbolic this “victory” feels this year, compared to years past. After all we’ve been through this year, and the last 4 years -- the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, love over hate, knowledge over ignorance, the collective over the individual -- couldn't feel more timely or relevant, some much needed "wins" in a year of otherwise overwhelmingly disruptive, depleting plot twists.
We have all been through so much over these last several months and years that have illuminated both the best and the worst tendencies of humanity. So, may today be the start of a new era in which these gains and triumphs and are actively maintained, sustained, and celebrated through collective, conscious and constant action to keep moving towards the direction of love, light, and planetary wellbeing.
