Just 14 more days until the day that many of us have been waiting for, for the better part of the last 4 years. A day that in this year vs. in elections past, may raise more questions than answers, but one that will be momentous, nonetheless.
I know we're all tired, weary, anxious, and depleted. Believe me, I am, too. But we gotta keep on, keepin' on. And we gotta help others keep up the hope, momentum and determination to Get Out The Vote, too.
The artist Banksy is known for saying [painting], "If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit."
So sure, strap on your life vest, and be willing to just float for a little bit when you get tired of paddling. Take breaks, pace yourself. This has been, and will continue to be, a marathon, not a sprint. And take a friend along who you can tag to keep swimming along for you while you rest, or cheer you on when you feel worn down.
But whatever you do, stay in the water. Because if we all stay in, recruit others join, and collectively keep up the movement and momentum, we can keep the hope alive of a Big Blue Wave -- and, if we're lucky, maybe even a Big Blue Tsunami -- hopefully coming soon to a government near you.
Because remember, we're stronger together. And when we band together to lift one another up, and keep each other going, it benefits us all -- as JFK said, "the rising tide lifts all boats."
So let's all be willing to jump in the water and help keep each other flowing and swimming forward, keeping the momentum going to mobilize those larger waves of progress. We've got work to do, but we've got this. 💪🏽🏊🏼♀️🚣🏻♀️🙌🏽
